    EugÈne Ysaye: Sonata N ° 3 for solo violin 9'  - 2015  - Heliox Films
    Synopsis

Ysaÿe wanted to compose works for violin alone, reflecting the evolution of the violin techniques and music of his time. In this set of sonatas, he used the main features of early twentieth-century music, such as whole-tone scales, dissonances, and quarter-tones. Ysaÿe also used virtuoso bow and advanced left hand techniques throughout, because he believed that "nowadays the tools of violin mastery, in terms of expression, technique, mechanism, are much more necessary than in days gone by. In fact, they are indispensable, if the aim is to express oneself without restraint".

    DAVID GRIMAL & LES DISSONANCES
The Dissonances, homage to the famous quartet of Mozart, is a collective of artists created by violinist David Grimal. The musical ensemble without conductor, has an absolute liberty of programming choices. This independence offers musicians the opportunity to meet a new audience sometimes intimidated by the so-called classical music and to bring the public a new vision of the major repertoire.
