In this interview, punctuated with touching archive material and film clips, the mysterious Isabelle Adjani speaks openly for the first time.

Passionate, sensitive and exceptionally beautiful, Isabelle Adjani is one of France’s greatest stars. An actress from an early age, she was still in her teens when she landed the role of Agnes in Molière’s The School for Wives at the Comédie Française. Hailed as a revelation, the press was full of praise for her talent, youth and naturalness.
Her fame grew further with the film The Slap by Claude Pinoteau, which was a box office success in France. She appeared in several television shows and was already the darling of the French public before embarking on a national and international career.

Isabelle Adjani has worked with the world’s greatest filmmakers, including François Truffaut who filmed her devoured by passion in Adele H, André Téchiné, Benoit Jacquot and Werner Herzog. By investing herself completely in her characters, she produces performances of dizzying intensity. All forms of genius are fascinating… but they are also disturbing.

An in-depth discussion with one of France’s greatest stars, who comments, questions, and rediscovers photographs, film clips and archive material tracing her career and life. A film that finally reveals a small part of Isabelle Adjani’s mystery.
