| Two years before George Frederic Handel and Johann Sebastian Bach in Germany, a great composer was born in France. His name is Jean-Philippe Rameau and he will be the greatest composer of the 18th century. Born under Louis XIV, and died 20 years before the French Revolution, Rameau is one of the great masters of Western music. In a 90-minute portrait, director Olivier Simonnet tells us the story of this man who was said little amiable. He convenes in magical places (the Royal Opera of Versailles, the Palais des Ducs de Bourgogne ) great performers of this music long forgotten (Marc Minkowski , Christophe Rousset, Sabine Devieilhe ... ). A crossing in music of eighteenth century in France. |
