Cellist, singer and composer, Ana Carla began learning the piano at the age of five with none other than Miriam Valdes, the sister of the pianist Chucho Valdes.
She trained in Cuba, won a place at the Conservatoire in Paris at the age of 17 and went on to study Musicology and Classical Cello Interpretation at the Sorbonne.
On the jazz side, she made her recording debut at the age of 4 with her father, going on to perform at the Havana Jazz Plaza festival at the age of 10 and at Jazz à Amiens when she was 15. Since then, she’s been performing at festivals, including the Paris Jazz Festival, Souillac en Jazz and Jazz à la Villette, and has just released a new album, Caribe.
