They breathe a breath of modernity into a very male-dominated justice system: in the public prosecutor's office, only a third of prosecutors are women. Committed to this highly responsible and unusual position, they are sweeping away prejudices about a profession that is little-known in France.
Prosecutors are essential to our justice system: as the bosses of what is known as the "parquet" (public prosecutor's office), they lead judicial investigations, make representations at hearings on behalf of the public interest and, less well known, organize operations and controls alongside the police.
For several months, we followed 3 women Public Prosecutors, in court and in the field. Faced with a multitude of cases, and despite the urgency, how do these women strive to find the most appropriate response in a world where crime never stops?
