Adapted from the novel by Yvan Goncharov. Oblomov is one of those characters who draw their strength, not from their complexity or from the evolution of their character in the face of hardship, but from their simplicity and the kind of stubbornness that makes them complete in themselves, unconcerned by what others may think of them. In this respect, Oblomov stands alongside Dostoyevsky's The Idiot, Camus's The Stranger and Melville's Bartleby.
