    Beethoven, Symphony No. 4 in B flat major, Op. 60 33'  - 2013  - Heliox Films
    Synopsis

In the Autumn of 1806, Beethoven was staying in Silesia with his main patron, Prince Lichnowsky, who gave him a large allowance and showed a great deal of interest in him. This friendship ended with a violent quarrel, provoked by Beethoven, who refused to play for visiting French officers (Germany being then occupied by Napoleon).
The Fourth Symphony is the only one of Beethoven’s works that was commissioned. While he was staying with Lichnowsky, a neighbouring lord, Count von Oppersdorff, who had a good orchestra, asked him to write a symphony for him. The work was completed quickly, and its general tone is cheerful and happy. Tradition attributes this light-heartedness to the alleged engagement between Beethoven and Therese von Brunswick in May 1806; but this sentimental legend is contested today.

    DAVID GRIMAL & LES DISSONANCES
The Dissonances, homage to the famous quartet of Mozart, is a collective of artists created by violinist David Grimal. The musical ensemble without conductor, has an absolute liberty of programming choices. This independence offers musicians the opportunity to meet a new audience sometimes intimidated by the so-called classical music and to bring the public a new vision of the major repertoire.
