This is one of the most sensational duck hunts, taking place on one of the finest and noblest rivers of France and an exceptional World Heritage site, the Loire. Portraits of the hunters allow us to discover this wild river between Orleans and Tours. We accompany them as they hunt waterfowl, through the winter and its migrations, the cold spells and floods, to learn about a fast-flowing and sometimes dangerous river. One of the strengths of this film is also its portrayal of the wintery atmosphere that so often gives the Loire river the impression of being at the other end of the world.
