Self-taught guitarist Marc Ducret started playing professionally when he was only 17. His style is heavily influenced by rock and bebop and bursting with virtuosity. In 1986, he was invited by François Jeanneau to participate in the first National Jazz Orchestra, with which he gave more than 80 concerts. In the same year, he won the La Défence Concours National de Jazz.
In his new album, Métatonal, he invites new musicians to join his trio in order to bring a different perspective to his music, exploring new arrangements and sharing work created in "workshops" in the form of variable geometry concerts and master-classes.
The result is a great success, exuding a powerful, warm energy, with the brass bringing a distinctive, fragile and edgy tonality to tracks like "Kumiho”.
