BRETON DRAFT HORSES
56' - 2007 - Peignoir Prod.
Synopsis
A portrait of the Breton draft horse seen through the eyes of three generations. Once at the centre of country life, the Breton horse fell victim to mechanisation in the 1960s, its gradual disappearance coinciding with a dilution of Breton cultural identity. Over the last few years, Brittany has been reviving its old traditions, and the breed has had a new lease of life. New breeders have developed an interest in the Breton draft horse and are putting it to new uses.
