Founded in 1978 in Pigna, A Cumpagnia brings together singers and musicians driven by a shared passion: preserving and keeping alive Corsica’s musical heritage.
The group performs a rich repertoire of sacred polyphonic songs — ranging from popular pieces to Franciscan chants — as well as secular music, from Paghjella, Madrigale, and Terzetti to Lamenti and love songs, alongside numerous monodies.
Through these vibrant voices, the memory of Corsica comes alive: tales of love and revenge, echoes of everyday life and significant events — stories that have endured through the centuries and which the group reinterprets with great sensitivity.
Beyond singing,
A Cumpagnia is also committed to reviving traditional Corsican instruments such as the cetera, pirula, pivana, and cialamella, through meticulous reconstruction work.
