    A DROP OF WATER ON A VOLCANO 52' + 71'  - 2022  - Vertiges Prod
    Synopsis

A dive into the depths of possibility, in the highest lakes in the world! This is the crazy challenge set by 2 friends, a cave diver and a mountain guide, who plan to cross the Atacama Desert, entirely on their own, to reach the side of an Argentinian volcano 6000-metres above sea level. An expedition full of highs and lows!

Frédéric Swierczynski is one of the best cave divers in the world. Sébastien Devrient, a film director, is also a mountain guide. The two of them are friends, and plan to go on a diving expedition together at very high altitude in Argentina, at the other end of the world: a three-week trek, carrying their diving equipment, to reach lakes at an altitude of almost 6000 metres.

A great deal of preparation is necessary before they can embark on this ambitious project, during which they’ll be completely on their own. To accomplish this challenge, they have had to adapt, to find the limits to which the human body and their equipment can be pushed, and come up with ways to make their loads as light as possible.

A journey littered with pitfalls, that takes the two friends into a mineral world in which the lack of water soon makes itself felt….
