The other danger threatening them is Amneris, the daughter of the king of Egypt, who is also in love with Radames, making Aida, who is her slave, her unfortunate rival. Radames leads the Egyptian troops to victory and the king offers him his daughter, Amneris, as a reward. But, from glorious hero, Radames will soon become an outcast, having betrayed his family by entrusting important military secrets to Aïda, who has been commissioned by her father Amonasro, the king of Ethiopia. Condemned to be buried alive, Radames accepts his fate, to the great displeasure of Amneris, who will to do anything to save him. In the solitude of his tomb, Radames discovers Aïda, who has come to reaffirm her love for him and to die by his side.
