The "Sunrise" quartet owes its name to the theme that begins the work: it evokes the special moment when the light shines forth beginning a new and inevitably joyous and unforgettable day, if we are to believe the dazzling acceleration of this quartet.
It is part of a group of six quartets, composed at the same time as "The Creation" and dedicated to Count Joseph Erdödy, the autograph scores of which have been lost.
Along with Op.20, this set, remarkable in its perfection, assurance and innovation, is the most prestigious of the Haydn quartets.
DAVID GRIMAL & LES DISSONANCES
The Dissonances, homage to the famous quartet of Mozart, is a collective of artists created by violinist David Grimal. The musical ensemble without conductor, has an absolute liberty of programming choices. This independence offers musicians the opportunity to meet a new audience sometimes intimidated by the so-called classical music and to bring the public a new vision of the major repertoire.
