Jordi Savall then created a soundtrack for his favorite instrument which was notably rewarded with the César for best music.
More than thirty years after the release of Tous les Matins du Monde, this concert called La Viole du Roi Soleil allows Jordi Savall to pay tribute to the major characters of this film: Marin Marais and Jean de Sainte-Colombe, emblematic figures of the viol 17th century gamba. I
t is in the collegiate church of Sant Vicenç, one of the most remarkable monuments of Catalan Romanesque art, that we find the Maestro. Alone, equipped with a 6-string bass viola da gamba from 1553, Jordi Savall offers us a moment out of time.
