The Concert of Nations and the El Leon de Oro choir perform Symphony No. 9 in D minor opus 125, known as "Ode to Joy", by Ludwig van BEETHOVEN, under the direction of Jordi SAVALL.

This open-air concert, given on August 28, 2021 at the Royal Saltworks of Arc-et-Senans, closes the complete symphonies of Ludwig van BEETHOVEN by Jordi SAVALL.

Among the soloists, soprano Sara GOUZY, mezzo-soprano Laila SALOME FISCHER, tenor Martin PLATZ and baritone Manuel WALSER.

At the end of the concert, Jordi SAVALL invites the public to sing with the orchestra in French "the Ode to Joy", a poem written in 1785 by Friedrich von SCHILLER.
