Live from the 8th Festival of Music and History for Intercultural Dialogue, at the Abbey of Fontfroide in Narbonne, Hesperion XXI and La Capella Reial de Catalunya, under the direction of Jordi SAVALL, perform a concert dedicated to Erasmus and his "Eloge madness".

With Nedyalko NEDYALKOV (kaval), Yurdal TOKCAN (oud), Hakan GUNGOR (kanun), Dimitri PSONIS (santur), and the reciters Louise MOATY, Marc MAUILLON and René ZOSSO.

Texts taken from Erasmus' correspondence and his writings accompany texts by Thomas More and Luther, improvisations, variations and vocal or instrumental adaptations on the theme of madness, as well as works by Guillaume Dufay, Josquin des Prés, Claude Sermisi, John Lloyd, Heinrich Isaac, Du Caurroy, Jacques Moderne, Giovanni MariaTrabaci, and anonymous Western, Sephardic and Ottoman pieces.
