The first program we are presenting, featuring the "4 Seasons" and other Vivaldi concerts, is a tribute to the magnificent violinist, teacher and composer Antonio Vivaldi, the man most responsible in his day for the excellence and success of the orchestra of L'Ospedalle della Pietà.
Today, the Concert des Nations for women will be led by the excellent soloist and violin virtuoso Alfia Bakieva, and by Jordi Savall, to lead the ensemble along the path of excellence, discovery and sharing. This new musical Ospedalle for the 21st century intends to follow the example of the ensemble of young female singers and musicians of the old Venetian Ospedalle della Pietà, by creating today a new exclusively female meeting place for the study, improvement and dissemination of a repertoire spanning the pre-Vivaldian era, right up to the dawn of Romanticism (1600-1850).
