David Krakauer and the Anakronic Electro Orkestra, virtuosos of Klezmer, revisit and reinvent this music by injecting it not only with electronica but above all a surprising and communicative aesthetic and energy.
Samplers, synthesizers, bass and drums establish an unrestrained rhythm approaching rave party trance, reminding us that dance is the basis of Ashkenazi music; the accordion exposes the harmony with the elegance of an Argentinian tango; the clarinets converse and fly on an electro magic carpet.
David Krakauer and Anakronic take us on a journey from revisited klezmer to totally reinvented klezmer, from the melodic to the most abstract: the original melody takes on a completely different meaning without losing its power of lyrical evocation.
