Pawning a valuable item in exchange for immediate cash? For that, people turn to the Crédit Municipal, formerly known as the Mont de Piété. Whether facing financial hardship or an unexpected life event, pawnbroking continues to help around 100,000 clients every year! Since the first branch opened in France in 1637, the institution’s social mission has endured, and it holds countless incredible life stories. To explore it, we decided to spend some time there! Three branches—Toulon, Auxerre, and Tours—graciously opened their doors to us. Dive in with us into this mysterious world, with its own vocabulary and very particular codes!
