"La Misa Tango", composed by Martín Palmeri in 1996 in Buenos Aires, brings together the six traditional Latin mass parts (Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus, Benedictus, Agnus Dei), performed by a choir.
Its originality lies in the unusual rhythms of this joyful and jubilant mass, as well as the use of the bandoneón, the emblematic instrument of a tango ensemble.
A strange and magnificent work, marked by intense dramatic tension — a true operatic climax with sharp contrasts.
