Synopsis
This portrait of Frère Betto, a leading figure in the social struggle in Brazil, takes us back to the roots of the country’s social movements, examining their political and social context at each stage of their development, from the first hours of the dictatorship in 1964 to the current day.
Frère Betto’s destiny is inextricably linked with the evolution of the popular movements in Brazil, which gave rise to great leaders such as the current president, Lula, and provide us with a better understanding of a process taking place in throughout the whole of Latin America.
