    Synopsis

    Both violinist and conductor, Corsican musician Jean-Christophe SPINOSI has been combining his two passions since 1991, when the Matheus quartet was created. The group quickly opened up to other instruments to venture into the most diverse repertoires and Spinosi then devoted himself full time to the musical direction of the Matheus ensemble. The young chef was made a Knight of Arts and Letters in 2004.

     

    Interview with conductor Jean Christophe SPINOSI alternating with extracts of opera arias by Vivaldi and Handel, performed by counter tenor Philippe JAROUSSKY during a concert recorded at La Chapelle de la Trinité in Lyon under the artistic direction of Eric Desnoues.

     

    The Ensemble Matheus and counter tenor Philippe Jaroussky under the musical direction of Jean Christophe Spinosi perform:
