OUMOU SANGARE at La Cigale, Paris
90' - 2018 - ZYCOPOLIS Productions
Synopsis
After an 8-year break from music, the singer from Wassoulou returns with an album bursting with modern and explosive sounds: “Mogoya”, intended to make young people dance, without forgetting their culture and traditions.
She returns to the stage surrounded by a dynamic group, composed of gifted musicians who achieve the perfect fusion of traditional African instruments (kamele n’goni, karignan, percussion) and the guitar, bass, drums and keyboard corpus.
A committed activist, in “Mogoya”, Oumou Sangaré denounces the impoverishment of human relations, warns against the wrongdoings of womanisers, and fights against resentment. She also honours traditional values and extols the lifeblood of her country, Mali.
