A portrait of filmmaker Paul Verhoeven, featuring interviews with the director himself, actors and actresses from his films, as well as excerpts from his work. The documentary explores how his distinctive style can shock, provoke, and unsettle audiences.
Above all, it is the power of Verhoeven’s imagery that defines his cinema. Through photographs, previously unseen documents, and materials largely unknown to the public, the film traces the evolution of an auteur from the 1970s to the present day.
Numerous rare archives, behind-the-scenes photographs, production footage, and personal films illustrate the reflections of Verhoeven and the testimonies of collaborators who took part in his films.
