    Synopsis

    Portrait of the Venezuelan pianist Sergio TIEMPO who says he owes his vocation as a concert performer to Martha Argerich.This documentary is made up of archive images including personal archives, an interview with Sergio TIEMPO and some interpretations by the pianist, as well as extracts from concerts.Sergio TIEMPO recounts his beginnings, how he learned the piano with his mother, then he talks about his influences, notably that of Martha Argerich on his professional choices, his work with his sister, the pianist Karine Lechner. Sergio TIEMPO tries to explain the role of a performer, as well as what he feels while performing.The works that punctuate the portrait are: “Petite Enfance au Venezuela” by Maurice Ravel, a two-piano recital with Martha Argerich, “Danse Slave n°2 opus 72”, by Antonin Dvorak, “Porgy and Bess” by George Gershwin .The musician is also filmed rehearsing with Mischa Maisky at the Verbier Festival, at Studio Yamaha and with the European Symphony Orchestra at City Hall in Frédéric Chopin's "1er Concerto".
