    Synopsis

Everyone knows him by his stage name: Jésus La Vidange. A Drag King whenever he steps onto the stage, he tries to find his place somewhere between his native Burgundy and Paris. A tender showman with the unmistakable charm of a crooner, he shares with us a glimpse of his intimate journey, where the artist and the person are inseparable.

At first glance, one might not imagine the full story that Jésus La Vidange carries on his shoulders. Behind the wheel of his old van or hosting a village celebration, he seems happy. He is the king of what he calls "Morvanzonia." Sometimes, he escapes to Paris, where he reunites with longtime friends—his chosen family.

Jésus La Vidange was one of the first Drag Kings in the world to appear on the famous show Drag Race, dedicated to the art of drag. In Paris, he was also—just a few years after writer Paul B. Preciado—one of those who helped establish and sustain this art form.

But beyond his artistic identity, Jésus’ journey tells the story of thousands who, like him, once had to leave in order to truly be reborn elsewhere—to finally become themselves.

This film seeks to explore how identities are shaped and evolve, tracing the life of a flamboyant figure who has learned to shine through both joy and hardship. Jésus La Vidange’s story is, in this sense, inspiring: the journey of a complex and unique artist, in whom each of us can find a piece of ourselves.
