It’s a crazy thing! The story of a music video, a cover version, a meeting and a comeback. This documentary tells the amazing tale of the return to the stage after more than thirty years of Beb, the former frontman of Soggy, a French rock band who had a hit in 1981 with their legendary single “Waiting for the War”.
Reminiscent of a French Iggy Pop, with his leather jacket and unruly mane of white hair, 62-year old Beb is an outlandish character from another era. A gardener since his split from the group, he’s addicted to goat's milk and does 700 sit-ups every morning!
Two years ago, his life took an unexpected turn when his rock and roll past caught up with him. A Californian skate punk heavy metal band, The Shrine, released a cover version of "Waiting for the War”. One thing led to another and, on the 17th of November 2015, Beb returned to the stage alongside The Shrine at Le Trabendo in Paris, before going on to fulfil one of his craziest dreams, performing with the band in the USA.
The story of one of the most incredible comebacks ever made by a French rocker is told in this new film by Olivier Hennegrave, who also happens to be Soggy’s ex-drummer! Today, Beb is known to a new generation of hard rock fans and Soggy's songs are echoing around the world.
Even crazier still, in 2016, Soggy signed a contract with the New York label Outer Battery Records to re-issue a compilation album originally recorded in 2008 on CD and for streaming, as well as a collector's silver vinyl edition.
