Six teenage girls from broken homes, with troubled childhoods, are trying to rebuild their lives in La Promesse, a warm and lively Provençal house, occupied by its director, Padma.

Over a period of two years, the film focuses on their words, their silences, their crises and their moments of grace, in both their private and collective lives.

Kim, Nadji, Hana… can this communal life give these young girls the beginnings of stability and the energy to get by? Will they be able to overcome their inner demons? How can we predict their future when the present is so fragile?
