This film tells the story of my family between 1943 and the present day, between Amiens, Calais and Berlin. It's a film about what we pass on beyond what we would like to, and about what we receive that we don't want.

I was born three decades after the fall of the Nazi regime.

A month after the fall of the Wall, I turned 18. I didn't know that I had family in Germany, stuck in the East since 1952, I didn't know that I belonged to a line of abandoned children, I didn't know that my existence was linked to the war, I didn't know that my grandmother had escaped a mass suicide in 1945, I didn't know that my family history belonged to a taboo episode in German history and I didn't know that I was going to make a film about all that.
