The Vieux Port campsite in Messanges, in the Landes region, is Europe’s largest campsite.

In the week leading up to its reopening after the winter closure, all teams are on high alert, putting the finishing touches in place to welcome the first holidaymakers.

The campsite has been run by the same family for three generations. It spans 36 hectares and offers 1,460 pitches.

From the arrival of new mobile homes for the season, to landscaping work, training of seasonal staff, and refilling the water park, the final week before opening is always a very intense period.

Meanwhile, Michel’s family is eagerly waiting. Michel, his wife, and their two children are looking forward to returning to their bungalow after the site closed last October.
