The night of the Kings: Royal festivities in the time of Louis XIII
50' - 2015 - Karl More Productions
Synopsis
Jordi Savall takes over the three prestigious rooms of the castle, to honor the three Kings who created the architecture of Versailles.
Louis XIII, who chose the site and built the first castle, was a musician and a good dancer in the Court Ballets. He favored the development of royal music, the creation of the 24 violins of the King, and the festivals he organized foreshadowed those that his son would bring to the peak. French ballet music owes almost everything to his reign.
Concert recorded on June 30, 2015 at the Royal Opera of the Château de Versailles.
