Since the discovery of the tomb of the apostle Saint-Jacques in the 9th century in Spain, several hundred thousand pilgrims have walked the routes to Santiago de Compostela each year. This impressive 3,000-kilometre network is dotted with 71 unique UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including basilicas, churches and extraordinary cathedrals, as well as spectacular works of art of extraordinary dimensions.
