Les Sauvages tells the story of a mysterious young woman who moves into a park on the edge of the “neighbourhood”, a place between the city and the forest. The local residents surround the young woman and ask her what she’s doing there. Soon, people from outside the community - the police, town planners and politicians - join in the commotion, because the unexpected is unsettling, and it’s important to keep control of the territory. But the Bacchantic intruder will turn old habits upside down...

In a confrontation between the ordinary and the extraordinary, opera and the neighbourhood, the floor is given to children.

The 52 minutes documentary takes us backstage : We discover the set and we are living the experience with the children who will be confronted with realities that are new or unknown to them: the choice of the first role, stage fright when approaching the dress rehearsal, texts to be learned by heart, embodiment, investment, the gaze of others, the staging of oneself...

The children will reveal the opera's secrets to us, we share with them the emotions of the few minutes before the curtain rises as well as the rehearsals…
