ZUSAMMEN –Le Mans fait son cirque Festival 95'  - 2026  - Tangaro/CLC Productions – Le Plongeoir – TéléGrenoble – Télé Paese
    Synopsis

    A production by Compagnie EquiNote

Zusammen is rooted in the great tradition of circus under the big top, the original circular arena where, for centuries, the relationship between humans, animals, and community has been continuously reimagined. Rather than focusing on spectacle alone, the performance reveals what usually remains behind the scenes: the everyday lives of circus artists, their gestures, doubts, and rehearsals, transformed into poetic material.

This approach reconnects with the popular history of the circus as an art of collective creation and transmission, where extraordinary feats emerge through collaboration. The horses, treated as genuine performing partners, revive the legacy of the original equestrian circus while inviting reflection on our contemporary relationship with the living world. Their language and behaviour become a source of both dramaturgical and choreographic inspiration.

The evolving scenography, built from everyday objects, anchors the performance in an aesthetic of transformed reality, echoing the fairground origins of the circus. The opening and closing banquet serves as a metaphor for community, recalling the festive rituals that have long shaped human societies.

In this way, Zusammen—meaning "together"—offers a contemporary interpretation of the circus: a multidisciplinary art form where acrobatics, music, theatre, and the relationship between humans and animals come together in a collective and deeply sensitive experience.

Circus artists: Sara Dreyer, Alfred Gilleron, Vincent Welter, Simon Martin-Kantorowicz, Perrine Delsalle, David Koczij

    Directed by: Emilie Capliez
