Blue Dog was born from the meeting of four musicians driven by a shared passion for blues, soul, and vintage rock. Formed in French-speaking Switzerland, the band took shape around singer and guitarist Philip Gerber, soon joined by Brigit Geiser on keyboards, Yves Horrisberger on bass, and Etienne Issartel on drums. The name “Blue Dog” evokes both a loyalty to a distinctive, refined sound and the joyful melancholy that runs through their repertoire.
